Claire had a sabbatical from teaching and spent time in Kunming, Yunnan's vibrant capital. She fell in love with red sea bamboo roses and freshwater pearls while exploring South China's jewellery markets. This experience enriched her life and inspired her artistry, as each piece she creates blends nature's elegance with her unique vision.
Claire's creative journey truly took off when she returned to London and began her exciting silversmithing adventure at Flux Studios in Camberwell. She learned techniques from top London silversmiths in Hatton Garden, Greenwich and Camberwell, and was delighted to be selected for the eponymous Johnny Rocket Gallery while exhibiting at Treasure in Somerset House. She proudly launched her first collections—Yunnan, Rose, and Butterfly Spring—each a stunning showcase of her artistic vision, captured in sketchbooks from her travels and living in London.
In 2016, she returned to Belfast, establishing her studio in the beautiful North Down countryside, where she expertly blends sculpted botanical forms with rich cultural influences from her amazing experiences in London and China.
